BDO in Ukraine joins the community of British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (BUCC)

In the context of political and economic changes in the world, it is very important for companies to look for new opportunities for business development and cooperation at international markets. Nowadays the development of partnership relations between Ukraine and Great Britain is one of the strategically important directions. Therefore, BDO in Ukraine management decided to join the British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (BUCC).

In December 2022, BDO in Ukraine announces that it has signed a membership in the British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (BUCC), which unites British and international companies and individuals looking to focus on the Ukrainian market. BUCC also assists Ukrainian businesses seeking to build business, commercial and trade relationships in the UK and around the world.

By joining the BUCC community, our company aims to promote the development of cooperation between the two countries, which is especially valuable under Brexit and the UK-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement, which became effective on January 01, 2021. Such cooperation is also important for attracting investment that can be of great help in rebuilding Ukraine after our victory.

About the British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce

BUCC was established in 1997 supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in London and the UK Ministry of Trade and Industry to promote free trade and investment between the United Kingdom and Ukraine. The British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce provides detailed information on business, trade and culture of both countries, holds regular committees, meetings with experts and other events (one of the most large-scale is Ukrainian Week in London).

BUCC initiatives

Currently, the British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce is focused on:

  • encouraging the increase of trade and investment based on the Trade Partnership between our countries;
  • reducing import duties on agricultural products from the UK for Ukrainian exports;
  • developing a proposal for the creation of a judicial ombudsman in Ukraine, to carry out judicial reform and anti-corruption programs in Ukraine, which will help protect British and other foreign investments in Ukraine;
  • creating a proposal for political risk insurance for investors and other entities doing business in Ukraine.

In the context of ongoing pressure on Ukraine, international partners are aware of the possible negative consequences for the economy of our country, and therefore declare their solidarity in support of Ukraine and further intention to expand and deepen international trade cooperation with Ukrainian business.

Within this extraordinary time for Ukraine, BDO in Ukraine demonstrates an active social position in promoting the future economic recovery of our country. Today we join efforts with foreign trade associations and its members representing the largest economic partners of Ukraine to be among the community of like-minded people and participate in initiatives to rebuild Ukraine together.
