BDO organisation supports its colleagues in Ukraine during Russia’s invasion

BDO in Ukraine is making everything it can to support our employees and assure their safety.

BDO is an international network, and we are receiving a lot of support from BDO Global office and from our colleagues all over the world. BDO recently announced the position on Ukraine which is that: no BDO firm will work with any sanctioned Russian and Belarussian entities, BDO does not have a network firm in Russia, BDO is removing BDO Belarus from its global network. BDO firms are also fully implementing the sanctions imposed by their governments, which hopefully will help end this crisis.

We appreciate all the warm messages we are receiving from BDO firms and individual BDO colleagues and we would like to share the initiatives from the BDO organisation to help BDO in Ukraine and the Ukrainian employees.

People helping people
  • The BDO Response Centre
Our priority was (and is) the safety of our people and their families on the ground.  We immediately activated the BDO Response Centre, coordinating the humanitarian crisis that was emerging. A 24/7 Response Team is on stand-by to take calls and provide immediate first-hand support to our Ukrainian colleagues, ranging from transportation, accommodation, safe passage, where possible, and financial assistance.
  • The BDO Financial Assistance Fund
In less than one week, BDO set up a dedicated Fund, with a significant amount of donations from both BDO’s Global Office and many of our BDO firms. The fund will be used to provide frontline humanitarian aid and support to our colleagues, and ensure they have access to finances where and when needed.
  • Access to technology
For our displaced colleagues, BDO has made sure that IT support is in place, providing them with the necessary IT tools, and secure access to all networks, so they can stay connected at all times.
  • Temporary and permanent solutions
After the first immediate response, the BDO Response Centre is now assisting in finding a more suitable accommodation for our people, depending on their personal needs and preferences, including support with immigration requirements, access to medical care, further counselling and finances.
  • BDO will also make sure that our colleagues can start working again, through temporary contracts with other BDO firms, but with the overall ambition to sustain and strengthen BDO in Ukraine.

We are proud to be in BDO family and absolutely sure that darkest days is the time for the best friends. Ukraine will remain and become stronger and all of us will have much work to do in the future to rebuilt our country.

Glory to Ukraine!
