BDO enters a new chapter of global leadership
On 1 November 2026, Trond-Morten Lindberg officially assumed the role of Global CEO of BDO, succeeding Patrick Kramer.
With more than 25 years of experience within BDO, including leading BDO Norway, serving as EMEA CEO and, most recently, as Global Chief Strategy and Operations Officer, Trond-Morten brings deep knowledge of our organisation and a clear vision for its future.
Trond-Morten began his professional journey with BDO in 1999, joining BDO Norway shortly after graduating. He became a Partner in 2006 and was appointed Managing Director of BDO Norway in 2010. Since 2017, he has held senior leadership positions at the global level.
Colleagues across the BDO global network recognise not only Trond-Morten’s professional experience but also his strategic vision, deep understanding of the needs of member firms and consistent approach to implementing decisions in the interests of the organisation as a whole. They also express confidence that, under his leadership, BDO will continue to build on its strengths — its people, corporate culture and commitment to professional excellence.
During the Global Leadership Summit in Panama, Trond-Morten highlighted the importance of combining courage and accountability in leadership. Addressing leaders from across the BDO global network, he emphasised that courage and a willingness to act are only part of the journey towards success, while accountability is essential to seeing initiatives through to completion.
At a time when the professional services industry is increasingly turning to private equity, BDO is taking a different path: strengthening global integration, bringing member firms closer together, investing in technology and AI, and pursuing sustainable growth while remaining independent.
This direction is reflected in BDO’s Strategy 2030, which prioritises stronger international collaboration and the responsible use of emerging technologies. Today, the BDO global network brings together approximately 95,000 professionals across 170 countries and territories. Closer collaboration between member firms is expected to support more effective integration of expertise from different countries and make that expertise more accessible to clients.
BDO will also place particular emphasis on leveraging the opportunities offered by emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. At the same time, the professional expertise and human judgement of its people will remain central to the work of the global network.
For our clients in Ukraine, this direction means stronger international collaboration, more connected expertise and greater opportunities to support Ukrainian businesses as they rebuild, grow and expand into global markets.
But for BDO in Ukraine, this appointment has a particularly special meaning.
When rusia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, Trond-Morten personally initiated and led BDO’s Global Response Team. Around 100+ colleagues from across our international network worked around the clock to help our people and their families reach safety, organise relocation, provide financial assistance and ensure that BDO in Ukraine could continue operating. His leadership and the extraordinary solidarity of our global colleagues made a profound difference during the most difficult period in our firm’s history.
Today, BDO in Ukraine continues to work, grow and contribute to our country’s resilience and recovery. We know firsthand the value of a truly connected global network.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Pat Kramer for his dedicated leadership over the past four years and his important contribution to shaping BDO’s future.
And to Trond-Morten Lindberg: thank you for standing with us when it mattered most.
We wholeheartedly support your leadership and look forward to contributing to an even stronger, more integrated and innovative BDO.
